He has given his approval for being a Member of Parliament.  Though his nomination to the Rajya Sabha got a mixed reaction amongst sportspersons and politicians, only time will tell how well the Master Blaster fares in the field of politics. Tendulkar will be the first active sportsperson to become such a member of the Upper House of the Parliament. While everyone is debating his move, Sachin acknowledged that the honor bestowed on him was for his contribution to the field of cricket. The batting superstar has charmed millions in the country and around the world and is now set for his new stint in politics.

Rekha:

Rekha has been nominated to be a Member of Parliament too, although she has not yet accepted it. This latest Rajya Sabha role will provide the dusky beauty a fresh lease of celebrity. The media will go nuts when Rekha shows up in parliament, dressed in gorgeous Kanjeevaram sarees, eyes perfectly downcast. Rekha was one of the top heroines of the 80s in Hindi films and has won numerous national awards in her acting career.
